Built Around the Learner, Not the Lesson
We started Ploy Setthi because we saw a gap — people with real financial questions and no comfortable place to ask them.
Back to HomeHow We Came to Do This Work
Ploy Setthi was founded in 2011 by Achara Setthi, a financial educator who had spent years watching friends and family navigate major money decisions without the basic vocabulary or framework to do so with confidence.
The pattern was consistent: people approaching retirement, changing careers, or going through significant life events — and doing it without much guidance. Not because information wasn't available, but because most of it felt either too technical or too impersonal.
The solution wasn't a book or a website. It was a room — a small group of adults with shared questions, guided by someone patient enough to take their time.
That first workshop in 2011 had nine participants. Today, Ploy Setthi has worked with more than 1,800 adults across Bangkok and welcomes new cohorts every quarter.
Making financial clarity accessible to everyone
We believe that understanding your own money is not a privilege — it's a skill. One that can be learned at any age, with the right support and the right environment.
- Patience. Every question deserves a thoughtful answer.
- Honesty. We present information clearly, without exaggeration.
- Practicality. Every session leads to something you can actually use.
- Respect. Adults learn differently. We design with that in mind.
Who You'll Learn With
Our facilitators are selected for their ability to explain clearly and to create an environment where participants feel comfortable asking anything.
Achara Setthi
14 years in financial education. Achara designed the core curriculum and facilitates the Women's Financial Empowerment Program personally.
Nattapon Kamol
A former banking professional who translates complex financial instruments into plain language. Leads the Fixed Deposit Strategy Course.
Pattama Tirawat
Handles participant support, scheduling, and materials. Pattama is often the first voice you'll hear when you reach out to us.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These aren't marketing points — they're the operating principles that shape every session we run.
Participant-First Design
Every program is built around the questions adults over 40 actually ask — not the questions financial textbooks assume they'd ask.
Privacy and Discretion
What participants share in sessions stays within the room. We handle personal financial details with care and never pass them on.
Regularly Updated Content
Thai financial regulations and banking products change. We review and update all workshop materials every quarter to keep content current.
Post-Session Support
Questions don't always surface during a workshop. Participants can email us with follow-up questions within 30 days of their session.
Recognised Standards
Ploy Setthi has been recognised by the Thailand Financial Literacy Network and holds membership with the Asia Financial Education Association.
Accessible Learning Environment
Our Silom Road venue is step-free and comfortable for extended sessions. We consider accessibility in every aspect of how we host.
Financial Education Rooted in Bangkok's Reality
Financial education in Thailand carries a particular context. The banking products available, the social expectations around money, and the cultural norms around discussing finances all shape how adults here relate to personal finance planning. At Ploy Setthi, we design around that context rather than ignoring it.
Adults in their 40s and 50s in Bangkok often face a specific combination: limited access to workplace financial guidance, growing responsibilities around family and housing, and the beginning of serious retirement considerations. Our programs address these overlapping pressures in practical, manageable sessions.
Based on Silom Road since 2011, we've worked with participants from across Bangkok and surrounding provinces. Many come through word of mouth — a colleague who attended the Emergency Fund Workshop, a sister who completed the Women's Program. That kind of referral reflects what we aim for: sessions that actually change how people think about their finances, in a way that's worth telling someone about.
